Gillette Stadium Sneaker Social

The first SneakerSocial kicked things off at one of the largest venues in New England, Gillette Stadium. Home of the New England Patriots, over 40,000 square feet of space was rented as the Putnam Club was transformed into the largest Sneaker Convention ever in the area.

With final headcount of 3,387 guests, the line stretched from the W1 entrance down the sidewalk to the main entry gates, with sneakerheads traveling as far as Oregon for a chance to experience a new tide for sneaker events. Combining the traditional buy, sell, and trade elements that come standard with most events, SneakerSocial took things a bit further. With guest speakers Chad Troyer of Boston Ekin, Johnny Earle of Johnny Cupcakes, and Greg Selkoe of Karmaloop each delivering inspirational stories of the tremendous opportunities within the sneaker and streetwear culture, guests experienced an opportunity to build relationships and learn from some of the brightest minds in the community.

More importantly, SneakerSocial partnered with Cradles to Crayons, a charity that works to help over 400,000 children in need. Together, we were able to collect hundreds of donations to help support their effort.

“To be able to help the children with basic essentials is amazing, and the generosity of guests at the SneakerSocial is really going to brighten their day” – Jaron Newton, Cradles to Crayons.

Major sponsors Saucony, Concepts, and Johnny Cupcakes saw their names up in lights, as their logos rotated through the HD Stadium jumbo displays, a spectacle few sneaker events can rival. Stores set up mini pop-up shops inside, creating a unique atmosphere that broke the status quo.

Covered by Complex Magazine, special guest DJ Clark Kent joined us as the host for the event, signing hundreds of autographs and sneakers. Joining him were Deon Point of Concepts, Frank the Butcher, Josh Boyce of the New England Patriots, and many more special guests who each made the event that much more tremendous.
