Favorite Things: The @BallandBuck Perfect Wallet
As a Babson College Grad, there are few things that make me happier than seeing an alumni succeed in a field I'm extremely interested in. When it comes to Menswear, few have done it better than Mark Bollman.
Mark is the owner of Ball and Buck, a Boston based company located on Newbury Street. The company's core mission statement is to bring back American Heritage with quality made goods engineered in the USA. Each product emphasizes extreme craftsmanship, and restores the American-made legacy which is easily lost to outsourced labor.
While not my first purchase with Ball and Buck, the Perfect Wallet is by far and away one of the best purchases I've made. Contributing to their Kickstarter Campaign in 2013, I was able to secure a one of the Perfect Wallets with the "Orange Blaze" stitching, at the time, an option only available to Kickstarter. Each wallet uses Red Wing leather and is hand made in Minnesota, holding 15 cards and is perfect for anyone that prefers not to carry cash on a day-to-day basis.
I carry this wallet everywhere, and the stitching and leather has held up perfectly. Each wallet also can be repaired/re-stitched if ever broken, as part of a buy it for life project. Retailing $88 when i first purchased, manufacturing costs seem to have been cut due to popularity, with a range of colors and options available from $68-88 dollars.
I highly suggest checking in on the other Made in USA products Ball and Buck offers if the wallet isn't your thing. They are a prime example of the less is more mentality, focusing on buying one quality product that will last for decades as opposed to the fast fashion era of cheaply made items that have a short shelf life.
